More Dinosaur Activities. Art.
Here is a short post. Just a photo of more artistic ways to create a dinosaur! Santino is loving this. I am proud of his development and how persistent he is in pursuing his love for the dinosaurs. He is creative in finding ways to make another dinosaur shape. Magnetic letters and sponge stamps, for example.

Winter Fun. Snow Maze.
We've had waaaaaaay too much snow this season. Waaay to much!
It snowed, then the ice storm came and froze everything solid. Then more snow came. And more. And more.
We came outside today to enjoy the beautiful sunny and relatively warm day, when the temperature didn't drop down to -40C. Santino tried playing on our lawn, but kept falling through the thick cover of snow. So I took out my friend, the shovel, and dug out a small labyrinth for Santino. Just pushed the snow aside, leaving hard ice-covered floor to walk or run.

Christmas Countdown Activities. Day 18. Christmas Concert, Santa, and more Salt Dough Paint
We had a busy and fun morning today. Santino's preschool held a Christmas Concert for the parents and relatives, followed by the potluck.
I decided against posting pictures from the concert, as I didn't want to post other kids' photos without their parents' permissions, and I don't have them. To describe the concert in a few words: Santino again ran off the stage after the second song, and sat with me for a while. He didn't sing, didn't open his mouth once. On the bright side, he also didn't cry, like last year.

Newmarket Santa Parade 2013.
This will be just a collection of a couple of photos. We walked part of the way to get to Main St., Santino biked. Then we waited a while with the crowd. Santino's favorite part was in the beginning of the parade - 2 fire trucks! Once they were gone, Santino wasn't much interested. He later wanted to run around, walk his friend's dog (dressed as a hot dog.. so cute!) and dance. The parade was just a tad bit long for his attention span. I reckon.

Field trip: Fire Station Open House
This morning Santino woke up saying "fire trucks, fire trucks". I thought it was because I told him yesterday "stay in the bed, close your eyes, and tomorrow I will take you to the fire station", but he just wanted to watch the videos, that his daddy made for him long time ago: a compilation of various short videos of trucks found for free on the internet.
My plan was to take him to the open house for an hour or so, then check out a mom-to-mom sale, and then stop by at a park. Last year I took Santino to the same fire station to their open house, and he didn't want to do anything, just sat in the corner and ate popcorn.
This time proved to be very different. I brought him early, exactly at the opening time, to beat the crowd and be able to do something without standing in line. He started slow, just looking around. Then he examined the fire trucks, displayed at the front of the fire station.
I am thinking now, "why didn't I take photos of the premises and all the activities, and how nicely it all was displayed and organized". I guess I'm not a reporter, I was mostly concerned with what Santino wanted to do, so I only have pictures of him.
He started by climbing on one of the fire trucks.

A field trip to the Canada Wonderland
This is not something unusual for us. After all, I did buy a season pass, so that we could go as often as we like, thanx to my friends Devin and Joana who drive us.

Santino's favourite lunch: dinosaur sandwiches
He loves his food, including vegetables and grains and meat and sometimes fish. He is rather easy to feed, but he is a child, so if I make the dinosaur sandwiches instead of regular square or triangular, this makes him very excited and happy.
The colorful plate I made this time was just for fun. He loved it!

A person's a person....
I just wanted to share this nice shot I took this morning on our walk in the woods. Santino stood for a few moments, watching the huge trees, and I just felt that he felt how small we are. Life is big. I hope he gets the most out of it.

A view from my world
Introduction by Nataliya:
Pipidinko got ahold of my digital camera (very basic, nothing fancy) and walked around his playroom snapping random pictures. Now, these photos might not be of any artistic significance yet, but they are cool to look at, as we can see Santino's world through his eyes and from his level. Kinda cool, if you ask me, isn't it?

Trucks obsession
Santino loves trucks. Loves them. He knows many of them by name, like excavator (he can't pronounce that, but he is trying), big rig (one of his favorite words), fire truck, pickup, bus, ambulance, airplanes and helicopters. Oh, and how could I forget garbage trucks! He calls them "gunk". All these boring sedans and mini vans don't interest him that much.Today he got his dream come true! Big rig delivered some shingles to us, as the roofers will start working this weekend on our roof. The driver let Santino sit first in his fork lift, and then in the big rig cab! Wow... Needless to say, that it was nearly impossible to take Santino out.
